Bringing together two areas of expertise

An important part of this acquisition isthat the knowledge behind SECANT is being brought into the broader ARDIS®R&D organization.Optimization algorithms are much more thansource code. They are the result of years of research, experimentation andexperience solving real-world optimization problems.By combining SECANT’s expertise with thewider ARDIS® development organization, we can build further on that knowledgewhile accelerating the development of new optimization technology.

A stronger organization behind SECANT

For existing SECANT customers, becoming part of ARDIS® means that the technology is now backed by a much larger international software organization.

ARDIS® brings dedicated capabilities in software development, R&D, support and implementation, together with a wider technology platform and international organization.

There is no immediate change for SECANT customers. Customers will continue to be supported while we gradually build the future together.

Two families, one long-term view ——

There is another reason why this combination feels right.

Both SECANT and ARDIS® grew from family entrepreneurship and a long-term approach to technology.

ARDIS® is privately and independently owned. Its shareholders are the people who build and run the products, which means we can commit to development programs that pay off over years rather than quarters — investing in products, people and technology because we believe they will create value for our customers for many years to come.

The acquisition of SECANT fits exactly within that philosophy.

It is not about consolidation for its own sake. It is about bringing together people, knowledge and technology to build something stronger. And it is about setting the new standard in cutting optimization — something we intend to keep raising.

Welcome to the ARDIS® family, SECANT.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) ——
What does this mean for existing SECANT customers?
There is no immediate change. Customers will continue to be supported, and we will communicate directly when future developments become relevant.
Will SECANT continue to be supported?
Yes. Support continues as part of the transition into the broader ARDIS® organization.
Will SECANT products disappear?
There are no immediate product changes. Over time, we will evaluate how the SECANT technology can best become part of the wider ARDIS® platform.
What will happen to the SECANT technology?
The ARDIS® and SECANT technologies are already being brought together, combining different specialized algorithms and optimization expertise.
Why did ARDIS® acquire SECANT?
Cutting optimization is core technology for ARDIS®, and the SECANT algorithms and expertise significantly strengthen that foundation. Together, the two companies bring decades of algorithms, knowledge and experience into one optimization framework.
Is ARDIS® owned by private equity?
No. ARDIS® is privately and independently owned. Its shareholders are the people who build and run the products, which means the company can commit to development programs that pay off over years rather than quarters.
What do you mean by “the new standard in cutting optimization”?
Two companies with 40 years of cutting optimization each, bringing decades of specialized algorithms into one common framework. We believe no other provider combines this much algorithmic depth, experience and breadth of application in a single platform.
Cutting edge manufacturing software.
